A clear product brief is the starting point for a useful quotation.
01 · Product specifications
Share a name, reference image or drawing, plus dimensions, materials, colors, functions and use. Identify critical tolerances and the features of any reference sample that must be retained.
02 · Quantity and packaging
List the first-order quantity per item, color mix and expected repeat orders. Specify unit packaging, cartons, label language and barcodes so packing costs are included consistently.
03 · Destination and timing
Provide the destination country, port or postal code and the required arrival date. Allow separate time for sample approval, production and transport, plus room for inspection and adjustments.
04 · Comparing quotations
Compare specifications, quantities, packaging, lead times and delivery scope alongside price. List sample, tooling, inland freight and other one-off charges separately before placing an order.
Keep these details together in one sourcing brief for supplier review and follow-up.
